Tragedy in Russia as a report confirms that a 24-year-old minor leaguer has been murdered
Some absolutely dreadful news coming out of Russia, as 24-year-old Russian minor league player Vladimir Payul was reportedly killed in horrific fashion after a violent altercation with a tenant went horribly wrong.
Per a report from TRT, a Russian TV and radio news outlet, Payul had been dabbling in real estate for some time and was looking to sell an apartment complex. When he approached the tenant to ask him to make arrangements to move out, the man had refused, which led to a physical altercation. Shortly thereafter, Payul's fiancee and his brother had discovered that the young player had been hacked to death with an axe.
Russian police did arrest a 34-year-old man in connection to the murder, but unfortunately there is not much information on the suspect that has been taken into custody at this time.
The most tragic thing about this awful situation is that Payul and his fiancee had sent out invitations to their upcoming wedding just one day before his death.
Very disturbing news to say the least. Thoughts and prayers go out to Payul's family, friends, fiance and teammates during this very difficult time.
