Mitch Marner's recent comments about leaving the Maple Leafs earned him some sympathy, but one analyst wasn't biting, calling him out for blaming fans for his departure.

On Thursday evening, TSN aired Mark Masters' sit-down interview with Marner. While their time together was short, the two covered plenty about his time in Toronto, what ultimately led to his departure and his upcoming return in January as a member of the Vegas Golden Knights.
It didn't take long for parts of the interview to go viral on social media before fans weighed in, including Sportsnet's Sam McKee, who is known for his passionate takes on 'The Real Kyper and Bourne' and other Leafs-centric podcasts.
McKee first took to 'X' to call out the now former Leafs star for blaming fans once again instead of taking some level of accountability. Not long after, McKee made an appearance on 'The Fan Morning Show' where he went on a lengthy, passionate rant about Marner and his inability to ever take any accountability.
"People say mean things online every single day to me, I understand that. It can be hard, but it's a two-way street," began McKee. "For him to continually talk about this without ever looking in the mirror is infuriating and we're still doing it! When it's a high-profile scenario, when you're asking Max Pacioretty and Ryan Reaves, your teammates, about Vegas during the season... Yeah bud, people are going to be pissed!"

Catching his breath, McKee continued by calling out the disastrous 2019 negotiations that showed Marner's 'true colours' before taking one final shot at the 28-year-old to end his almost five-minute rant.
"Continually blaming the fans, never taking accountability -- I don't understand how this continues to be a one-way street. It always is our fault. It's never been his fault and he just can't get that through his head and he did it again! He's not even a Leaf! It's never his fault. It's always our fault. It's my fault. It's the media's fault. It's never the guy who's never gotten a goal in game 5 to 7 in his entire Leafs career."
A rant of epic proportions, McKee said what many in Leafs Nation have thought or said privately in recent years. Hopefully, though, this is the last we have to discuss Marner until he makes his return to Toronto in January.

Is Sam McKee right in saying Mitch Marner has failed to take accountability?
