Big announcement regarding All-Star Game rosters
Some exciting news coming down the pipe as the 2022 Honda NHL All-Star Game rosters are set to be revealed to the public on Thursday. The event is scheduled to take place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on February 5th.
According to an article released by NHLdotcom on Thursday morning, each of the four divisions (Atlantic, Metropolitan, Central and Pacific) will be represented by one captain, as voted on by the fans, and ten additional players from their division.
The Maple Leafs have 5 candidates up for voting to become the captain of the Atlantic Division team. Those players are: Auston Matthews, Morgan Rielly, Mitch Marner, Jack Campbell and John Tavares.
Of the forty players who will represent their divisions, 36 of them will be selected by NHL Hockey Ops, and the remaining 4 spots (one per division) will be filled by players who are voted in as the "Last Man".
Once the teams have been announced, we'll have a clearer picture of who will be up for the Last Man fan vote, which will close on Monday, January 17th just before midnight ET.
