Calgary Flames forward Milan Lucic delivered one of the harshest beatdowns of the season in his tilt with Ottawa Senators forward Scott Sabourin on Thursday night, but while he may have won the battle, the Sens won the war, coming out on top in the contest by a score of 4-1.

Less than 24 hours later, a photograph of Lucic's hands has surfaced, via hockey icon Don Cherry, and it's not pretty. I'd hate to see what Sabourin's face looks like!
All of those cuts and scrapes don't look pleasant, but Lucic is an absolute warrior. He has been one of the toughest players in the National Hockey League ever since he debuted with the Boston Bruins back in the 2007-08 season.
The 33-year-old has one year left after this one remaining on his contract and carries a $6M cap hit this season and next for the Flames.
