Early Wednesday afternoon, it was announced that Leafs prospect and Harvard University captain Nick Abruzzese was a nominee for the Hobey Baker Award. The Leafs can also add another prospect to that list.

According to U-Conn Men's Hockey's official Twitter account, Leafs 2020 7th round pick Ryan Tverberg is a candidate for the Hobey Baker award as well.
Tverberg was invited to Team Canada's selection camp for the World Junior Championship tournament last month, and while he didn't end up making the cut, it's a pretty good sign that he was even considered, given the glut of talent that Hockey Canada had to choose from.
In 17 games this season with the University of Connecticut, Tverberg has registered 9 goals and 8 assists for 17 points and showing vast improvements in his game since his freshman year.
The Richmond Hill, ON native was selected by the Leafs with the 213th overall pick in 2020.
