Vegas star Mitch Marner attempted to save face with Leafs Nation on Tuesday with his latest comments about his time with the Toronto Maple Leafs
After sitting down with TSN's Mark Masters during Team Canada's Olympic orientation camp, Mitch Marner
was ripped to shreds by the media for using hostile fans as the reason for him choosing to leave.
Refusing to take accountability for the failed post-seasons over nine seasons has remained another pretty significant issue with Marner and his comments.
Now getting settled in Vegas ahead of training camp, Marner participated in the NHL's media tour in his new hometown, wearing his full Golden Knights gear for the first time.

In discussing his time in Toronto, and first few months in Vegas, Marner's biggest takeaway was how much quieter it is in Vegas when he is out with his friends and family.
"I still have a lot of appreciation and love for a lot of people there," said Marner. "I find that when you're sitting down anywhere in Toronto or Muskoka, you always notice people from far away with the phones and the cameras, and even a couple of them stopping you and asking. It's just been different here. People know their hockey here but it's not all the time. I've got nothing bad to say about the way it was, but it's definitely a new perspective."
Last week, Marner was blaming security threats and obnoxious fans as the reason he left. This week, it seems like a complete 180-degree turn, saying he has a lot of appreciation and nothing bad to say about the fans. It makes you think -- is it an attempt to, once again, gain some sympathy from Leafs Nation and smooth things over a little bit ahead of his January return? Food for thought.
