Maple Leafs forward Steven Lorentz took a hilarious shot at the Leafs' parent company MLSE over the price of beer during a recent interview.

Steven Lorentz took a chance on himself last off-season, agreeing to a PTO with the Leafs before turning it into a one-year deal at the end of training camp. While he had other suitors, the opportunity to live out his childhood dream was too good to pass up.
In his first season, Lorentz skated in all 82 games, totaling 8 goals and 19 points which led to a three-year extension with his childhood team.
Lorentz made an appearance on the NHL Network on Saturday to discuss his new deal, along with playing with Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner and his pre-game ritual of jumping into the glass that provided one of the bloopers of the season.

Steven Lorentz Took a Bit of a Shot at Maple Leafs Sports and Entertainment During a Recent Interview

In discussing his pre-game ritual, Lorentz shared that he started jumping into the glass a couple of seasons ago when he was told to change his style of play.
The former seventh-round pick said it's his way of getting the first bit of contact out of the way. Former NHLer and current NHL Network host Mike Rupp asked Lorentz if he purposely knocks beers off the glass when they are on the road. Lorentz responded with a bit of a laugh and a smile subtly hinting that he would take aim at them before calling out the prices of beer back at own home rink, Scotiabank Arena.
"I've been doing it for a couple years now. I know it looks kind of crazy, but I just have fun doing it now. If we're on the road and I see beers against the glass, I'm not saying I'm aiming for them, but if they get spilt -- it's not like Toronto where you're paying 25 bucks a beer."
When even the players are aware of the exorbitant prices of beer in the arena, you know you've got a problem on your hands.
Beer is not an item of luxury, which is why asking fans to pay luxury prices is more than mildly ridiculous. The organization has already priced most hardcore fans right out of the building, and the ones that remain sure shouldn't be paying what they are to have a beer at the game. At least Lorentz cares enough to protect your drinks, folks!

Should MLSE drop the price of concessions?
