The Maple Leafs have undergone a massive makeover in the forward group, but they are still on the hunt for one specific player to fill a massive void.

When Mitch Marner was traded to the Vegas Golden Knights on July 1st, Leafs GM Brad Treliving explained that he was planning to replace him by committee.
He admitted there is no direct replacement for Marner, but that the money saved on an extension for the 28-year-old would let him add far more depth than Leafs Nation is used to.
So far, he has done just that, bringing in Matias Maccelli, Nicolas Roy and the recently acquired Dakota Joshua.

Maple Leafs Still Searching For Dynamic Forward

The Leafs have been rumoured to be on the hunt for another top-six forward the entire off-season thus far, but with just over $2M in cap space currently available, they are also trying to move out some bodies to land another dynamic player.
According to The Fourth Period's Dave Pagnotta, who appeared on the 'Hello Hockey' podcast, the Leafs are still looking to fill out Marner's roster spot with someone externally.
"They're still looking for a top six guy, they'd still like somebody on that right side."
There aren't exactly any big-name free agents available for the Leafs to pursue and fill the void left by Marner, but there are still some younger, un-signed restricted free agents such as Mason McTavish and Connor Zary who may benefit from a change of scenery.
