NHL Makes Controversial Decision Regarding Zadorov's Check to the Head of Scott Laughton

The NHL has made its decision on whether or not Bruins defenseman Nikita Zadorov will face supplemental discipline over his hit on Leafs forward Scott Laughton.
Not only did the Leafs lose the game on Saturday against the Bruins, but they lost Scott Laughton
after he took a massive hit from Zadorov midway through the second period.
No Timeline For Laughton's Return
Saturday was the Oakville native's second game back from a suspected broken foot, which he suffered during the pre-season against the Montreal Canadiens.
As the Leafs have usually done with injuries, they did not provide any timeline for his return. However,
given the severity of
Chris Tanev's second concussion in a month, the Leafs will likely take even more precaution with Laughton.
NHL Makes Ruling on Supplemental Discipline For Zadorov
Craig Berube called it a 'headshot', advocating for his player to receive some justice, insinuating that the league's Department of Player Safety to take a second look at the hit.
Unfortunately, his words carried little weight as the league did not announce a hearing or fine for the Bruins blueliner, meaning he will escape without penalty.
Was Laughton expecting it? Probably not. At the same time, he put himself in a vulnerable position looking for the puck in his feet. Zadorov didn't leave his feet and unfortunately, with his height advantage, caught Laughton in the head.
The league has suspended players for similar hits in the past, but as we all know, their Player Safety department is consistently inconsistent.
Bobby McMann jumped in to defend his teammate, and the Leafs may look to seek some additional revenge on Tuesday night, while looking to snap a two-game losing streak when they visit Boston.
