After their worst performance of the season, Maple Leafs winger Mitch Marner's reaction to blowout loss has left fans seething and in complete disbelief.

The core players of the Toronto Maple Leafs have been through it all for almost a decade and their lack of post-season success has been inexplicable but also inexcusable.
With a chance to push the Florida Panthers to the brink of elimination in Game 3, the Maple Leafs blew two 2-goal leads en route to an overtime defeat that has since sparked the opposition to 3 straight victories.
Game 4 was possibly one of the worst games they've played all season and it could have been the worst game until they showed up to the Scotiabank Arena for Game 5 and delivered an absolute stinker in arguably the biggest game since Game 6 of the second round in 2003.
Game 5 will be remembered for a lot of things, but the most important takeaway was the incessant booing they received after the Panthers took a 4-0 lead, which was then followed by two fans throwing their jerseys onto the ice in the third period.
After the game, the comments coming from the players were all in unison as they were hoping to look past the loss and as Mitch Marner said "flush it down the toilet". Unfortunately it's not that easy in a city that demands a whole lot more than what they received last night. The lack of accountability was staggering and left fans irate.
For Marner in particular, it was a tough showing, especially considering all the outside noise surrounding his contract situation. His performance was capped off by his spin-around back-hand pass from his own zone that was intercepted by the Panthers and subsequently led to a back-breaking goal.
That was certainly not the play to make down 2-0 with half the game remaining and with the camera panning to Brad Treliving shortly after, you could see the frustration in his face as well.
Flushing it down the toilet will be easier said than done because now the Leafs have to take down the Panthers on Friday night in Florida to force a Game 7. Considering their lack of success in elimination games over the years, it's high-time they finally showed up for once -- especially if your name is Mitch Marner.
