Leafs Nation Shows Blatant Disrespect to Mitch Marner in Final Shifts of Game 7

After falling behind 3-0 in the second period, giving up three goals to the Panthers in 6:25, Mitch Marner attempted to rally the Leafs by yelling at his teammates in what might have been his final game as a Leaf.

It was all for nothing, unfortunately, as the Leafs failed to gain or hold any momentum the rest of the second or third. With the game out of reach, Leafs Nation realized it was likely the last time Marner would wear the blue and white and began to voice their displeasure with his performance.

The fans that remained in attendance began serenading the Leafs forward with boos every time he touched the puck.

Not only did fans serenade the pending free agent with boos, but fans littered the ice with Leafs memorabilia as the clock wound down, forcing Marner to avoid a jersey as he skated to the bench ending his final shift of the game.

While Marner wore the brunt of the frustration from those in attendance during the final moments of Game 7, the entire team felt the frustration when they saluted the remaining crowd to a chorus of boos before leaving the ice for the final time this season.

If this is how it ends for Mitch Marner in Toronto, what an incredibly disappointing end, highlighted by yet another embarrassing effort on home ice.
