Lots of big decisions loom for the Toronto Maple Leafs over the next couple of days of course mostly revolving around Mitch Marner.Regardless of what happens with Marner, the Leafs without a doubt have holes on the blueline that need to be addressed. The Leafs are strapped against the cap and it'll likely be impossible to add anybody to the blueline. Could the Leafs keep Jake Gardiner around? It would actually be ideal but it doesn't seem possible salary cap wise. «We still don't have that amount of space … We would like to continue to keep that on the front burner, but until we solve Mitch's situation, it is impossible to engage with anybody.» Does this mean that Nikita Zaitsev is almost guaranteed to be on the team next year?
