In a shocking development, Sportsnet is believed to have fired Jeff Marek, raising serious questions about what will occur with 32 Thoughts: The Podcast, with Elliotte Friedman.

YYZ Sports Media is reporting on Thursday that Jeff Marek's future with Sportsnet is in serious doubt following an undisclosed and unconfirmed issue relating to the 2024 NHL Entry Draft in Las Vegas at the end of June.

"There is a ton of speculation as to the cause of the apparent seperation, however all we can confirm is he was at draft & then he wasn't, hasn't been heard from since & told most likely won't be back either."

Marek's last social media post came on June 28th, which is very odd. Since that time, both "32 Thoughts: The Podcast" and "The Jeff Marek Show" have gone radio silent, with the last TJMS airing on July 3rd.

Originally it appeared as though Marek and Friedman had gone on vacation, so it's certainly a bit of a surprise to hear that Marek may not return with Sportsnet. It really makes one curious as to what may have occurred at the draft that would have warranted a dismissal.

Obviously, it goes without saying that we'll keep an eye on the situation and share any news that we may discover in the coming days.

Marek had joined the Hockey Night in Canada team back in 2007, hosting games for Sirius Satellite Radio. He officially joined Sportsnet full-time in 2011.
