"The Toronto Maple Leafs are currently anxiously awaiting John Tavares' answer on if he'll be willing to sign with the team or not. Tavares would without a doubt make the Leafs one of the best teams offensively with Tavares, Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner, William Nylander, Patrick Marleau and more. However, there's a slight possibility that one of them might not be happy with the idea of Tavares coming over to Toronto. While appearing on TSN 1050, TSN analyst Gord Miller brings up an interesting point. Miller pointed out that one of Matthews' biggest complaints last year was about ice time. The Leafs franchise player was only 40th among centers in ice time and Miller asked «Leafs 3rd line is on the ice, opposition takes a penalty, who starts the PP?».Clearly unless Matthews were to move over to the wing, Tavares would take away some of Matthews ice time.
