The Toronto Maple Leafs are part of a handful of teams who got to present to unrestricted free agent John Tavares. The Leafs were one of the first teams to present to Tavares and while usually you don't want to be the first, it seems the Leafs took advantage. According to NHL Insider Darren Dreger, the Leafs made a presentation that really impressed Tavares and his agents."The word that I received from a secondary source as a I would call it was that he was very impressed with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Now granted the Leafs were first out of the gate and I think there's some advantage to that." Dreger stated on TSN radio "Because of course you have a captivated audience, everyone's fresh, the adrenalines flowing. The Leafs put together a video presentation which I'm told was first class, it was top shelf."Dreger continued that he's heard that Mitch Marner was part of the video presentation and he believes the Leafs are in the drivers seat.
