"The Toronto Maple Leafs have just made their pitch to the biggest free agent on the market, John Tavares. While the team might be focused on landing the hometown boy, they haven't given up on re-signing one of their own just yet. According to NHL Insider Darren Dreger, Tyler Bozak is receiving a lot of interest on the free agent market, and the Leafs are still heavily in the race as well. General manager Kyle Dubas has stated recently that the cap isn't an issue and they'll make big deals this summer if they have to, and landing both Tavares and Bozak would require some cap maneuvering.Bozak has expressed his interest to stay in Toronto, however once Tavares signs with whatever team he chooses, deals for Paul Stastny and Bozak will start flying in and the Leafs might not be able to match the monster offers Bozak will probably receive.
