On an odd-man rush that had the 30-year-old in a prime shooting position, Domi appeared to disregard shooting all together and attempted a pass that ultimately ended up back on his stick at the side of the net.
Last night, however, his selflessness almost cost the Leafs the opportunity to clinch home ice advantage in the first round. As the Leafs enter their final three games of the season with home ice secured, the hope is that Domi will get back to being more aggressive and shooting more.
He is at his best when he establishes himself as a legitimate shooting threat, and if the Leafs are going to go on a deep playoff run, they need Domi to be selfish at times and produce some secondary scoring.
