With all of the injury issues in Toronto right now, the Maple Leafs may have a reason to be concerned about Anthony Stolarz, given his condition after their loss to the Buffalo Sabres.

The injury issues currently befalling the Maple Leafs have already left fans concerned, but the latest report on Anthony Stolarz could be the most troubling update yet.
Following the game, Stolarz spoke to the media as usual, but it was clear that something wasn't quite right. He was seen with his both of his knees heavily iced, sparking immediate concern about his health.
While this doesn't rule him out, taking severe maintenance measures, such as icing your knees while talking with the media this early on, is not a good sign.
Head coach Craig Berube admitted on Friday that Stolarz has played a lot of hockey early this season and could use some rest. Judging by his postgame appearance, it's hard to argue with that.

Goaltending Depth Will Be Severly Tested

While it's normal for goalies to take care of their knees after heavy workloads, it's rare for them to do so publicly, a sign that this might not be just routine maintenance.
The return of Joseph Woll suddenly feels urgent, and with Cayden Primeau set to start the second half of tonight's back-to-back against the Sabres, Stolarz could be getting a well-earned break, or worse, sidelined.

Toronto Cannot Afford Yet Another Loss

With Chris Tanev, Morgan Rielly, and possibly William Nylander already out, losing Stolarz would be devastating. He's been one of the few bright spots early this season, keeping the Leafs in games they arguably didn't deserve to be in.
If Stolarz does end up missing time, Toronto's early-season struggles might just be getting started, and their luck, or lack thereof, may continue to define their season.
