Leafs announce call up from the minors
After a 5-2 win against the Islanders last night, the Leafs made a surprising roster move ahead of practice today. The Leafs recalled Joey Anderson from the Marlies and as he joined the team for practice, he was wearing a regular jersey, while Zach Aston-Reese took to the ice in a grey "scratches" jersey.
Anderson hasn't played with the Leafs since December 27th against St Louis, but since being sent down has 8 points in 9 games with the Marlies. Zach Aston-Reese on the other hand, has struggled with the Leafs lately. He has just 2 points since November 26th and aside from physicality, has not brought much to the lineup.
It would appear that Sheldon Keefe may be preparing to use an "all kids" line with Bobby McMann, Pontus Holmberg and Joey Anderson for the game Thursday night.
