The legendary Joe Bowen with an amazing play call on Auston Matthews' 25th goal of the season
Auston Matthews is no stranger to scoring some big, big goals for the Leafs. After scoring 60 last season, Matthews is on a bit of a slower pace than usual at this point in the year, currently 8 goals back of where he was at this point last season.
Last night, Matthews scored an all-important 3rd period insurance marker for the Leafs, which was set up by Justin Holl off of an incredible bank pass that travelled almost 100 feet straight to the tape of Matthews before #34 scored his 25th of the season. Matthews is very capable of scoring a lot of goals in a short period of time, so it's still entirely possible that we see him eclipse the 50 goal mark again this season. 60 may be pushing it, but again - it's probably not a good idea to count Matthews out with the way he's capable of scoring.
