I don't think it's a stretch to suggest that fans of the Toronto Maple Leafs are notoriously hard on goaltenders. It's just a harsh reality for the lot of us who expect reliable goaltending night in and night out - especially since goaltending has been a major thorn in the side of Leafs Nation for a great length of time.
Hopefully, we're in a better spot moving forward with the likes of Jack Campbell and Erik Kallgren (sorry, I just don't think Petr Mrazek is it), but the fact of the matter is that, until the Leafs can run a goaltender who is capable of stealing a playoff series, many in Leafs Nation will be pessimistic towards goaltenders.
Raycroft has been very critical of Leafs fans, despising them for how they treated him during, not only his time in Toronto, but long after he's been gone. To be fair, the feeling seems to be mutual.
On Tuesday, Bodog tweeted out a photo of Phil Kessel along with the message "Name a player who deserves more love from Leafs fans:" Raycroft couldn't resist quote tweeting Bodog's with his own name, as he still feels overcriticized by the fanbase.
Raycroft held the record for most wins in a single season by a Leafs goaltender with 37 before that record was broken by Frederik Andersen in 2017-18 when the Denmark native finished with 38 wins. I don't think I need to point out how Andersen's tenure in Toronto ended, especially since The Great Dane recently revealed that he was not a fan of his final two seasons in Toronto.
