In a new trailer for the NHL's Amazon Prime Video series, a ticked off Auston Matthews shows no mercy to the camera crew as the Leafs head into the locker room.

Named captain in August of 2024, it was a challenging first year wearing the 'C' for Auston Matthews.
From the start of training camp, the 28-year-old battled a nagging injury, which saw him miss significant time and even forced him to go to Germany for treatment in November.
At the end of another disappointing post-season exit, the Leafs' captain admitted that his injury hindered 'a lot of things' leading to the lowest regular season goal total of his career.
The start of last season was not only the debut for Matthews as captain, but also for the NHL's new Amazon Prime Video series "Faceoff: Inside the NHL", which captured moments of the 2023-24 season. One of the more popular scenes in the series covered the infamous argument between Auston Matthews, William Nylander and Mitch Marner on the Leafs' bench during their first round series against Boston.

Camera Crew Removed From Locker Room By Maple Leafs Captain Auston Matthews

In a new trailer for the upcoming season, footage shows a pissed off Matthews telling the camera crew to leave the dressing room before head coach Craig Berube goes off on the group for their lacklustre play against Florida.
Until the episode airs, the game in which this took place isn't known to the public, but speculation suggests that it is either Game 5 against the Ottawa Senators or one of Game 5 or Game 7 against the Florida Panthers.
As the Leafs prepare for a new season, Matthews has looked like his old self in training camp, and the new additions have given the Leafs depth up front that they haven't had in years.
Hopefully, a healthy Matthews and a more balanced forward group will help push the Leafs beyond the second round for the first time since 2002.
