Matthew Tkachuk Reveals Details of Gruesome Injury He Played Through on Stanley Cup Run

The Florida Panthers are Stanley Cup champions once again, defeating the Edmonton Oilers 5-1 in Game 6 to win the series 4-2. It marks the Panthers' second straight championship win, and third straight Finals appearance, solidifying their status as a modern day NHL dynasty.

At the heart of it all, once again, was Matthew Tkachuk, who scored his 8th goal of the playoffs, and the eventual game winner, bringing his total playoff scoring to 23 points in 23 games.

But, perhaps more incredible than his on-ice production was the revelation that he did it all while battling serious injuries.

Despite those gruesome setbacks, Tkachuk delivered when it mattered most, yet again cementing his place as one of the league's toughest and most clutch playoff performers.

Tkachuk didn't hold back throughout the playoffs -- especially when it came to taking shots at the Toronto Maple Leafs, who the Panthers eliminated in Round 2. He recently dismissed the Leafs as an easier opponent compared to the Tampa Bay Lightning, saying he knew Round 1 would be the hardest matchup, besides the Finale.

Tkachuk also questioned Toronto's ability to handle pressure, implying that they weren't built for Game 7s or deep playoff runs.

Now, with back-to-back Stanley Cups under his belt and a playoff run that proved his leadership and showcased his toughness, Tkachuk has backed up every word, once again showing he has all the right tools needed to win when it matters most.
