Despite being 53-years-old, Jaromir Jagr isn't letting age play a factor, as the legendary hockey icon attempts to remain on the ice ahead of the 2025-26 season.

With professional hockey leagues in Europe opening up their training camps, legendary hockey icon and long-time NHL veteran Jaromir Jagr was seen partaking in on-ice activities with his Kladno Knights of the Czech Extraliga.
At the end of the 2024-25 season, many speculated that it would be the end of Jagr's professional career that has spanned parts of 5 different decades and 37 seasons.
However, Jagr has consistently been mum on the topic of retirement, and has always returned to play for the club that he is a part-time owner for. While his numbers pale in comparison to his prime, he still puts up double digit points well past the age of 50.
We could see more of the same this season as Jagr was one of many players partaking in training camp activities, and many of his teammates believe he can still give it a go, while also reminding themselves that he's played with some of their fathers.
"My dad played with him," said American-born-and-raised Klima, the son of Czech ex-NHLer Petr Klima. "Playing with Jágr on the line was a good experience. I didn't expect him to play this long."
Many of his Kladno teammates would love to have him back, and it shouldn't come as a surprise, considering he is a legend in the Czech Republic, akin to what Wayne Gretzky is like in Canada. His career accolades speak for themselves as he appeared in 1,733 NHL games and sits second all-time in points with 1,921, trailing only 'The Great One'.
After several seasons in the KHL between 2008 and 2011, Jagr infamously returned to the NHL with the Philadelphia Flyers in 2011-12 before making pit stops in Dallas, Boston, New Jersey, Florida, and Calgary. His final season came in 2017-18 as a member of the Flames, where he added 7 points in 22 games.

He did return back to Kladno and has been playing ever since with almost no end in sight. If he does return for another season in 2025-26, it'll be the 38th campaign of his illustrious hockey career.
