Former Maple Leafs forward Nazem Kadri lets his frustrations out after being snubbed by Hockey Canada following their 42-player summer orientation camp roster reveal ahead of the 2026 Olympic Games.
The NHL players are officially returning to the Winter Olympics in 2026 for the first time since 2014, when Team Canada captured gold in Sochi.
Anticipation is high, especially with the announcement of Team Canada's Olympic orientation camp roster.
One name notably absent from the list is former Maple Leaf and current Calgary Flames forward Nazem Kadri -- a surprising omission given his impressive season and relentless style of play.
Kadri took to Instagram to express his reaction to the snub, commenting on a post of the orientation camp invites, with a simple but telling response, as per BarDown on X:
Kadri Snubbed From Team Canada Despite Strong Season with the Flames
Beyond his offensive output, he's known for his grit, determination, and playoff experience -- including a Stanley Cup championship with the Colorado Avalanche in 2022.
In addition to his omission from Team Canada, there were also offseason rumours suggesting that the Flames were shopping Kadri, with the Maple Leafs rumored as a potential landing spot.
As the NHL offseason continues and the 2025-26 season approaches, Kadri will enter the year with another chip on his shoulder, and will be determined to prove team Canada made the wrong decision.
