As the Toronto Maple Leafs make several roster changes, adding versatility and depth, one fan favourite will need to battle for a roster spot on opening night.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have undergone significant offseason adjustments, shifting to a depth-focused approach following the departure of Mitch Marner.
As Bryan Hayes noted on TSN's OverDrive, and shared via TSN on X:
"There's guys that haven't proven that they can score goals, one of those guys being Bobby McMann. So it's not like McMann can put his hand up in guaranteed a spot on the opening day line up. He's making $1.3M. He might just be the 13th forward. It's possible."
Bobby McMann had a breakout season last year, scoring 20 goals and 34 points in 74 games. However, he went cold late in the season and into the playoffs, finishing with zero goals in 13 postseason games.
With the Leafs prioritizing depth and lineup flexibility, players like McMann will need to prove themselves early to secure consistent ice time and maintain their role on the team.
