Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube has provided an injury update on Max Domi, and concerns are beginning to mount about the actual severity of it.
For the Toronto Maple Leafs, there was a lot of storylines to follow on Day 1 of training camp, ranging from line combinations to who the early standouts were. However, one important storyline to keep tabs on as we near pre-season contests is the status of Max Domi.
Domi was listed as day-to-day with a lower-body injury and was seen working with the development staff on his own for the last two days.
On Friday, head coach Craig Berube followed shared an update that didn't sound entirely positive, but implied that things should be looking up in the coming days, according to Terry Koshan of the Toronto Sun.
Berube said Domi is doing well, but not sure if he is on ice tomorrow.
While he might not be 100% ready at the moment, Berube's comments about Domi's eventual return in the coming days should help to curb any panic about the situation.
Nevertheless, Domi's situation will be intensly monitored over the next few days as he looks to shake off the injury and get back onto the ice with the main group.
