Ottawa Senators Captain Brady Tkachuk is hated by most of Leafs Nation, but may have earned some points with fans after his recent comments about last year's Maple Leafs.
While he does his best to play the villain and and get under the skin of fans and his opponents, the former first-round pick was rather humble this week when asked about the Maple Leafs and other Atlantic Division rivals.
Brady Tkachuk Shares Surprising Opinion About Last Year's Maple Leafs Team
On Tuesday, we saw the 25-year-old make an appearance on the Leafs-centric podcast "Leafs Morning Take", where he was asked about playing with
Auston Matthews at the Four-Nations,
Mitch Marner defecting to Vegas and what he thought of the Leafs and their first-round series last post-season.
In discussing the post-season series against the Leafs in 2024-25, Tkachuk had nothing but praise for how GM Brad Treliving rebuilt the Leafs into a much more complete team.
"They have such a great team. We knew going into it that's probably the deepest team that they've had in the last couple years. We knew it was going to be a dog fight from the opening puck drop to the final whistle."
Tkachuk's comments were somewhat surprising given the hostility and rivalry between the two clubs, but it's clear that the two teams respect each other regardless of what happens on the ice.
With the Leafs and Senators making some significant changes once again this off-season, the reinvigorated 'Battle of Ontario' will certainly be something to look forward to this season as the teams appear to be on another post-season collision course.
