A day after announcing that the Maple Leafs would be releasing Brendan Shanahan, MLSE CEO Keith Pelley has provided some clarity on the Leafs' front office situation.

After parting ways with long-time Maple Leafs President Brendan Shanahan, the team will now look to usher in a new era in Toronto that is based around winning at all costs.
On Thursday, we also learned the Maple Leafs would be retaining GM Brad Treliving, and that unless AGM Brandon Pridham had the opportunity to become a general manager elsewhere, he'd be back in his usual AGM role in Toronto next season as well.
On Friday, MLSE CEO Keith Pelley took some time to meet with the media, where he shared some of his insights, and revealed that he will ultimately be leaving the hockey decisions to Brad Treliving moving forward -- though he did mention his excitement to work more closely with Treliving and head coach Craig Berube moving forward.
During his media session, Pelley revealed that he would not look to hire a new President, and had the following to say about the personnel that he opted to keep in Toronto, which includes both Treliving and Berube. He also gave a nod to the fans, and drove home the point that he understands that the team has a responsibility to them to put a winning team on the ice.
"I have my utmost confidence in Brad, and I have my utmost confidence in Craig. I'm not looking to replace Brendan, I'm looking to work closer with Brad and Craig.

We have all the resources here to be a championship team, but it's using the resources in the right way.

I'm confident in Brad, I'm confident in Craig, I'm confident in the resources that we have. But I do believe that we as the custodians of the biggest hockey brand in the world, we have a responsibility to our fans."
Pelley's commitment to winning is going to put a lot of pressure on Treliving to make the right moves, and on Berube to lead the team that Treliving builds for him to greatness. Let's hope they're up to the task.
