"When the NHL paused it's season, it gave NHL players the opportunity to either stay in their city of employment or go home wherever that is. Some players decided to stay put while others travelled all over the world so they could be with their family. While he didn't cross any oceans, Toronto Maple Leafs forward Auston Matthews decided to head home to Arizona and took a teammate with him. Matthews revealed this week that he's currently in quarantine at his home in Arizona with fellow Leaf Frederik Andersen. During a video chat on Thursday, Matthews revealed some more details regarding their quarantine together. Matthews revealed that he's been saving Andersen from bumps as bruises as he practices during the quarantine. The Leafs' forward says that he's been consistently working on his shot during quarantine but Andersen hasn't been in net during those practice sessions. "I wouldn't do that to him."
Andersen is probably thankful!
