One of the Maple Leafs' top prospects has officially confirmed where he plans to play out his 2025-26 season after being selected in the 2nd round of the 2025 draft.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have been busy this offseason, making trades, signing key players, and continuing to develop their promising prospects.
The big centreman impressed at development camp, showing off his skill, versatility, and poise. However, fans hoping to see Koblar in North America will have to wait.
Koblar was recently selected by the Brampton Steelheads in the CHL Import Draft. When asked whether he would be joining the Steelheads this coming season, he responded decisively.
As per Terry Koshan on X:
"No, I don't think so. I think I'm staying in Sweden."
Koblar's Skillset Promising for a Long NHL Career
Though he may be a few years away from making the jump to the NHL, Koblar's performance is already turning heads. If his development continues on this path, it's only a matter of time before he makes his mark in Toronto.
Maple Leafs fans have good reason to be intrigued by Koblar. A 6-foot-3 centre with that kind of skill set is something to be excited about, and the fact that he already possesses NHL size could mean a shorter wait until we see him in the best league in the world. Playing against men in Sweden will likely help him develop even more quickly.
