Maple Leafs fans are frustrated by the latest announcement regarding the iconic Joe Bowen and Jim Ralph ahead of Thursday's Game 3 against Ottawa.

Despite the fact that the Toronto Maple Leafs have a 2-0 series lead in the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time since 2002, two of the organization's best known voices won't be travelling with the team for the next two games in Ottawa.
It is believed that Radio Commentators Joe Bowan and Jim Ralph will still be covering the game for radio, but will stay behind in Toronto to cover the game from a monitor.
That decision has frustrated Nick Alberga of The Leafs Nation, who aired his frustrations on the Leafs Morning Take podcast on Wednesday.
"These are two legends in this market. You turn on the radio -- you've done it a billion times, I've done it a billion times -- you hear Joe Bowan and Jim Ralph cover the Maple Leafs games.

I couldn't believe my ears and mind when I heard this from multiple people in the press box last night."
Alberga noted that Bowan and Ralph have not travelled with the team since the COVID-19 pandemic, but adds that he assumed the two would be in Ottawa for what are bound to be huge games for the Maple Leafs, with a potential sweep on the line on Saturday if they win Thursday's meeting.
Co-host and former Maple Leafs player Jay Rosehill agreed, saying it certainly can't be a money thing.
"It makes me think that somebody up there has just decided that's not something they want around the team, or I don't even know. I'm sure it's a stupid reason."
While watching the game on a monitor in a different city will get the job done, it won't be the same as having them at Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa for Games 3 and 4, feeding off of the atmosphere of a live NHL game.
Apparently, the five-hour drive from Toronto to Ottawa is just too much of a hassle to make it worth having Bowan and Ralph broadcast from where the action is taking place. It's a damn shame.
