Maple Leafs Fan Gives Us a Glimpse of What Auston Matthews and the Team Would Look Like Bald

With Mitch Marner now gone, it's anyone's guess how the Maple Leafs will look on the ice this season. We will get to see very soon what subtracting a multi-faceted star will do to the roster, and hopefully the additions the team made this summer and may still make before the start of the season will be enough to keep the Leafs near the top of the pack in the East.

While the dog days of summer continue to wear on, hockey fans have become somewhat restless and that much is obvious with how they have altered their social media behaviour.

One Maple Leafs fan in specific has decided to have some fun with not much happening in the hockey world. @LeafsLatest on X recently decided to remove the hair from some of your favourite Maple Leafs to show what they might look like bald. The results were nothing if not entertaining.

For Maple Leafs captain Auston Matthews, it does appear to be only a matter of time before genetics cost him his trademark flow. That visual is something that Leafs fans have been commenting on for years, wondering when Matthews will go "full Getzlaf" and show up to training camp without his dark, wavy locks. Now, we have a rough idea of what that might look like.

I doubt we'll ever see William Nylander pull out the hair trimmer and buzz himself right down to the dome, but the image from @LeafsLatest provides that look anyway.

The one I couldn't help but crack a smile about was John Tavares. @LeafsLatest did the former captain dirty in that image, showcasing Tavares with the full shine on top, keeping the hair on the sides and back.

At any rate, it won't be too much longer before we see players returning to their respective NHL cities for training camp, so we should be back to some real hockey news fairly imminently. For now, we'll just continue to have fun with it and enjoy as much of our summer as we can.
