The Maple Leafs continue to bolster their organizational depth under Brad Treliving, reportedly signing 6'3 college free agent John Prokop to an entry-level deal.

In his first deadline at the helm for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Brad Treliving began transitioning to building a bigger blueline in the organization when he acquired 6-foot-7 Cade Webber from the Carolina Hurricanes.
Over the off-season, Treliving continued to beef up the Leafs' blueline, trading for and signing multiple defenders, including Chris Tanev, Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Philippe Myers before making a blockbuster deal at the deadline to land Brandon Carlo.
While the upgraded size is noticeable on the Leafs, the Marlies still have a few smaller players drafted under the Kyle Dubas regime, such as Topi Niemela. However, Treliving is slowly phasing out those players as well, and according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the Leafs have managed to land NCAA defenseman John Prokop.
The 6'3 Prokop could still add some size to his 185-pound frame, but has been an offensive dynamo for Union College the last three seasons in the NCAA.
The 23-year-old Wisconsin native has tallied 85 points in 105 games across three seasons for Union, including 27 points in 36 games this season.
Prokop has had the eyes of a few NHL teams the past few seasons and attended the Vegas Golden Knights' development camp last summer. This is some tidy work by Treliving to venture out and land a coveted NCAA free agent, who was garnering some interest from other rival clubs.
