Frustrated Stolarz Appears To Target Nylander After Leafs' OT Collapse vs Kraken

After the Leafs' OT loss to the Seattle Kraken, a visibly frustrated Anthony Stolarz appears to aim blame at William Nylander in a tense postgame moment.
Frustrations have boiled over for Maple Leafs goalie Anthony Stolarz, who laid into his teammates following their 4-3 overtime loss to the Seattle Kraken on Saturday night.
The Leafs' number one netminder struggled briefly to begin the season after signing his extension at the end of training camp.
However, the past week has been the Stolarz show, making save after save, giving the Leafs opportunities to win games. Unfortunately, his team did not come through for him on Saturday.
Frustrations Boil Over For Stolarz
Before calling out his teammates in his post-game media session, Stolarz took matters into his own hands, dishing out a few shots on Kraken forward Mason Marchment after he crashed into him on a breakaway.
In addition to ripping his teammates for their overall poor play to begin the season, the former second-round pick appeared to target William Nylander specifically for his lack of effort in getting back on the overtime goal.
"A lot of guys have been here for a while. Overtime, you can't let someone beat you up the ice there. Gets a clear-cut breakaway. Minute left, you want to be on the ice in that situation, you gotta work hard. Gotta work back. And it cost us a point there."
After a burst of speed in the offensive zone, Nylander was caught flat-footed and out of gas by Seattle on a fast break the other way.
The 29-year-old was beat cleanly to the outside, leading to a short breakaway for Seattle that they capitalized on to win the game.
The Leafs' star forward has been under scrutiny from head coach Craig Berube to begin the season, but had begun to turn things around earlier in the week before this embarrassing moment.
Unfortunately, his defensive lapse not only cost the Leafs an extra point on Saturday night, but seemed to be the final straw for a very frustrated Stolarz.
How he and the rest of his teammates respond will be something to keep an eye on with a couple of days off before they return to game action on Tuesday evening against the New Jersey Devils.
