Maple Leafs goalie Anthony Stolarz shares his displeasure with how his team has been playing in the early stages of the season, sending a clear message to his teammates.

The biggest talking point coming out of last night's overtime loss to the Seattle Kraken was Anthony Stolarz being run into by Mason Marchment.
The Kraken power forward made a strong offensive play to the net but made no attempt in stopping up short as he ran out of real estate. Instead he backed right into Stolarz before the goaltender pushed the net off it's mooring and took care of business.
Stolarz spoke about the play after the game and why he decided to go after Marchment himself.
I mean, I'm not happy ... I'm going to try & stand up for myself. I heard the ref say we got a power play ... Kudos to the guys who were there & got down with him ... It's not fun. I don't like having 225-pound guys laying on me.
Unfortunately, this isn't the first time that Stolarz has been run into by the opposition, as he has had to deal with it a couple times against the Detroit Red Wings in recent weeks. It occurred once during the pre-season and happened again in their 6-3 loss last week.
Stolarz has certainly had enough and feels that the Leafs should take a page out of their opponent's book and start doing the same thing; going hard to the net and making life a little more difficult for their goaltender.
I mean, it's just playing hard. Maybe we can take a page out of their book and start getting to the net. For us, we like to go low to high and shoot, but for their goalie, it's like playing catch in the yard. You're seeing everything and we're not making it difficult. We made it difficult in the third and look what happened. We came out, tied the game, got a point out of it, almost scored with five seconds left, but it's a little too little. We're six games into the season... enough's enough and we kind of got to start picking it up here.
With Joseph Woll still sidelined, the Maple Leafs can't afford to lose Stolarz for any amount of time. His treatment and the lack of a response has been noticed by the rest of the league and it may continue if things don't change.
While it's great to see Stolarz taking care of business on his own end, it's up to the rest of the team to defend their goaltender. Head coach Craig Berube was also very unhappy and you have to imagine they're going to respond with more emotion the next time it happens.
