Former Maple Leafs star Mitch Marner honoured his new-born son with a special addition to his Vegas Golden Knights equipment ahead of training camp.
It wasn't for a lack of trying on GM Brad Treliving's part as he
had a deal in place at the deadline, but with Marner's wife pregnant, the 28-year-old reportedly declined to uproot his family at that time.
A few weeks later, Stephanie and Mitch welcomed their first child, Miles, into the world. Unfortunately for Miles, his first memories of his dad will be spent playing for another team rather than his hometown Maple Leafs.
Mitch Marner Appears to be Thriving in Las Vegas, Nevada
During his time in Toronto, Marner often had a drawing on his gloves, one that he added himself with a Sharpie. As he prepares for his first season as a dad, the former first-round pick set the Sharpie aside and his friends at True Hockey stitched Miles' initials and birthday into the sides of Marner's shiny, new Vegas gloves.
Whether you liked him, hated him or were just tired of the antics, you have to admit that it's a pretty nice addition by True to give Marner the gift of having a reminder of his baby boy on his equipment every night in his first season in Vegas.
