Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Antony Stolarz has made his intentions clear on a new deal with the team, putting a firm deadline on talks.

This week, NHL insider Darren Dreger revealed two direct comparables for a new deal between goaltender Anthony Stolarz and the Toronto Maple Leafs, but whether or not offers in those ballparks will be enough to get a deal done is another story.
Now, the Maple Leafs have yet another wrinkle to deal with, as Stolarz himself is putting a firm deadline on when he would like to have his deal signed, sealed and delivered. The worry is that if the Leafs don't submit an acceptable offer by that deadline, there's no guarantee Stolarz will re-up with the team next summer.
Stolarz's current contract, as per Puckpedia, runs out at the end of the 2025-26 season, but the netminder isn't interested in waiting until then to hammer out a new deal.

Anthony Stolarz Wants His Next Deal with the Maple Leafs to Get Done 'As Soon as Possible'

In an interview with Luke Fox of Sportsnet, Stolarz said if he had his way, a new contract would be signed before the 2025-26 season officially gets underway.
"I want to kinda get it done with as soon as possible, especially before the season starts. You know, I've been through free agency three times now, so it's nothing new to me.

But if there's something that we can get done before the season, I think that would probably be best."

Anthony Stolarz Urges the Maple Leafs to Get a New Deal Done before the Season Begins

Stolarz, who recently opened up about a concussion he received after a run-in with Sam Bennett in last year's playoffs, is getting estimates from analysts on his next contract that fall into the $4.5 million to $5 million range.
It's great to see that Stolarz is committed to signing with the Maple Leafs and has no interest in dragging out the process in the hopes of getting more money. It's a bit of a breath of fresh air in today's NHL. His deadline gives Maple Leafs management about three weeks to get it done.
