The Leafs were in Washington on Sunday to take on the Washington Capitals, their third playoff opponent in four nights after losses to Tampa and Florida on Thursday and Saturday.

The Buds were noticeably gassed throughout the contest, but did manage to come back from a 3-1 deficit in the third thanks to a heroic solo effort from Ilya Mikheyev to put the game back within reach, followed by a final minute goal from Jason Spezza to tie it up with the Leafs' net empty.
There is a lovely account on Twitter that goes by @LeafsJelly who syncs up legendary colour commentator Joe Bowen's play-by-play calls to the video highlights. Following Sunday's 4-3 shootout win against the Caps, LeafsJelly put together this little beauty featuring Bowen's play call on Spezza's game-tying goal. It was a dandy!
The goal was Spezza's 12th of the season and the 500th road point of his very impressive NHL career. With the win, the Leafs now move to within 1 point of locking up 2nd place in the Atlantic Divsion and home ice advantage in round 1 of the playoffs.
