Early in the second period of last night's overtime loss to the Panthers, Ilya Samsonov collided with Luke Schenn, who had dove to attempt to save a goal. The collision led to Samsonov having to leave the game with injury in favour of Joseph Woll, who made his second relief appearance for Samsonov of these playoffs. His first was in Game 1 against Tampa when Samsonov and the Leafs were burned for 6 goals through 2 periods.

During today's media availability, Sheldon Keefe provided a somewhat positive update on Samsonov. "He's feeling better today," said Keefe of his starting netminder, but it does not provide any clarity as to who will start Game 4 Wednesday. If Samsonov is feeling better today, it only causes more confusion in the Leaf net as Matt Murray has been cleared to play after missing more than a month with a concussion, while Keefe also said that Woll has "earned this".

We will likely get another update on Samsonov tomorrow, but we probably won't know who starts until Wednesday's game day skate. If Samsonov is skating, then he likely won't be playing.
