Nashville Predators defenseman Tyson Barrie has been having a very tumultuous fourteenth season of his NHL career. Barrie has missed time due to various injuries this season, and when healthy, his play hasn't been up to par, leading to limited minutes and spending time as a healthy scratch.
The disconnect between team and player led to Nashville giving Barrie permission in early December to seek out a trade. Unfortunately for Barrie, nothing has materialized as of yet.
In 31 games, Barrie has scored 1 goal and 11 points while averaging 18:09 in ice time. This is his lowest average ice time since his rookie season in 2011-12, when he had a cameo ten games in the league.
As his minutes are getting slashed, Barrie may be pondering what he would like to do after hockey. The BC native may have taken a step towards that by announcing that he is creating his own beer brand called 'Chilly One's Beer'. In a very classy move, he will be donating 10% of sales to charity.
