Ex-Senators Defenseman and Noted Maple Leafs Hater Fired By TSN

As training camps wrap up here in the early days of October, we are about to see the 2025-26 NHL regular season commence.

With the season looming, TSN has begun to reveal the personalities who will cover the regional games, and on Friday, the sports network revealed that one key member of last year's panel will not be among those selected.

Per Graeme Nichols, Senators beat reporter for The Hockey News, noted Leafs hater Marc Methot has been fired by the network, with a "rotating crew of analysts and special guests" expected to fill in.

Nichols revealed following the original announcement that a follow-up email was sent to probe for more information, but the following reply was all that was provided.

Methot spent 5 seasons with the Senators, spanning 2012-2017, and was often involved in heated, violent battles with the Maple Leafs. As a result, it made it very tough for Methot to be objective over all of the years that followed, including when he got into broadcasting.

Methot had roasted the Leafs on many occasions, both on air and on social media, and while there's no clear indicator that his inability to be objective and unbiased hurt his credibility, it may not have helped his cause either. A few examples of his work below.

Among those expected to rotate in and out to cover Methot's former post are two former Maple Leafs Frankie Corrado and Mike Johnson -- two ex-NHLers who have really made a name for themselves with their expert analysis.
