As the Pittsburgh Penguins continue to look for answers as to why their season has not gone the way they hoped, Pens President and General Manager Kyle Dubas has continued to scour through the waiver wire and free agency to look for help.
During his time in Toronto, Dubas was known for taking chances on prospects who didn't necessarily pan out the way anyone had hoped. Dubas enjoyed his reclamation projects in Toronto and it would appear as though old habits die hard.
Puljujarvi, has been recovering from hip surgery and has been eager to get back to the NHL. His career has been rocky with the bulk of his time spent with the Oiler, their AHL affiliate in Bakersfield and Karpat in SM-liiga in Europe, though he did spend some time with the Hurricanes last season.
Sitting 7th in the Metropolitan Division at the moment, there are many teams preparing to heat up for the second half, but with very little cap space to work with, Dubas will continue to do what he does and look for spare parts to bolster his depth.
