A recent poll from TSN pitted Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner against each other with the results drawing a surprising conclusion among NHL fans.
On Monday, TSN's 'OverDrive' created a poll on 'X' asking fans who would finish the 2025-26 season with more points. Marner is coming off of a career-high 102 points last season, while Matthews had a down year based on his standards finishing with just 33 goals and 78 points, but finished with 107 points just one year prior.
The poll collected 957 votes before it closed with a four-percent voting difference. Unfortunately for Matthews and the Leafs, voters believe Marner will finish with more points than the Leafs captain in his first season with the Golden Knights.
52-percent of voters picked Marner while 48-percent chose Matthews.
The Matthews-Marner discourse will be discussed all season, or at least up until their two meetings in January. With both adjusting to life without each other, their production will certainly be something to keep an eye on as many believe they won't have success without the other.
