'The Voice of the Maple Leafs' Shares a Special Message with Fans Ahead of Final Season
The legendary Joe Bowen, better known as 'The Voice of the Maple Leafs' has addressed his fans following an outpouring of love before his final season.
After more than four decades of loyal service and a tremendous amount of fanfare covering the team he loves so much, long-time Maple Leafs play-by-play announcer
Joe Bowen will be hanging up his microphone at the end of the 2025-26 season.
Over the weekend, popular Leafs Twitter/X account @LeafsJellyHD had
posted a touching tribute to Bowen ahead of his final season in the booth, which led to a huge amount of love coming Bowen's way on social media.
Joe Bowen Shows Some Love to Leafs Nation Over the Outpouring of Adoration
On Monday, Bowen, a Sudbury, Ontario native, took to Twitter/X to share his gratitude and a special message with Leafs Nation:
"Thank you so very, very much for all of the kind comments and
Notes regarding my final year behind the microphone for the @MapleLeafs . Looking forward to this season which is just around the corner and a long, long run in the post season!!"
Bowen, now 74 years of age, is certainly primed for retirement and life after hockey broadcasting. After broadcasting more than 3,000 Maple Leafs games in his career, he has certainly earned his "Voice of the Maple Leafs" moniker, and we wish "Bonsie" nothing but the best in this next chapter of his life.
Here's hoping that Bowen's farewell tour is one to remember and that the Leafs give him something magical to call in his final season.
