The LA Dodgers took a playful shot at the Maple Leafs' playoff woes during Game 5 of the World Series against the Toronto Blue Jays.

While the Maple Leafs were being beaten to a pulp by the Columbus Blue Jackets on Wednesday evening, a pair of first-inning homeruns and 12 strikeouts from Trey Yesavage carried the Toronto Blue Jays to a 3-2 series lead over the Dodgers.

Dodgers Trivia Team Takes Shot At Leafs

Before Game 5 of the World Series was out of reach for the Dodgers, they decided to take a playful shot at the Leafs with one of their trivia questions.
"The LA Kings have won 2 Stanley Cups since their inaugural season in 1967-1968. How many have the Toronto maple Leafs won in that time?" the question on the tv screens read throughout Dodger Stadium.
That question was asked to those in attendance an hour into the game, and shortly after, the Jays restored their two-run lead, before adding three more runs in the seventh and eighth innings, allowing Jeff Hoffman to close things out in the ninth.

Maple Leafs Are On Board the Hype Train

The Leafs have been repping Blue Jays gear as part of their pre-game fits throughout the World Series.
Not only are the Leafs supporting the Jays from afar, they even managed to rush down to the Rogers Centre on Saturday for Game 2, following their thrilling overtime win over the Buffalo Sabres.

Leafs Thankful Eyes Are on the Blue Jays

As the Dodgers made fun of the Leafs' playoff failures over the last 58 years, the Leafs fell to 5-5-1 in October with their loss on Wednesday.
It is certainly not the start they had hoped for, but thanks to the Jays' run in the World Series, they have faced less criticism as fans and the media have turned their attention to another Toronto sports team.
For those still paying close attention to the Leafs, I don't think it is anything to worry about. The past five seasons, the Leafs have had October records of 5-5-1, 6-4-1, 5-3-1, 4-4-2, and 6-5-3.
Off until Saturday, which is November 1st, the Leafs will have a few days to correct some issues before they head into what has historically been a very good calendar month for the organization.
Since the 2019-2020 season, the club has complied a 39-18-7 record during that month, leading many to believe that they will continue that trend this year.
