Jack Roslovic is widely considered the best remaining free agent available, but there's something that should deter the Maple Leafs from signing him.

Jack Roslovic was part of the blockbuster trade between the Winnipeg Jets and Columbus Blue Jackets that saw Patrik Laine and Roslovic shipped off to Columbus for Pierre-Luc Dubois and a third-round pick in 2022.
The former first-round pick has never been an offensive wizard, but has reasonably produced since the trade to Columbus. During his fourth season with the Blue Jackets, Roslovic was shipped to the New York Rangers at the trade deadline.
After a brief stint with the Rangers, Roslovic signed a 1-year deal with the Carolina Hurricanes last season and tallied 39 points in 81 games. Again, reasonable numbers, but another disappearance in the playoffs led to him becoming a free agent and in search of his fourth team in four seasons.
With the Maple Leafs being one of the teams interested in Roslovic's services, Wednesday's edition of 'Leafs Morning Take' touched on why it would be a bad idea to sign the Columbus native.
"Obviously a good player, but this has been the story of his entire career. Like you start to wonder and have questions that Carolina, one of the premier teams in the league, why didn't they want Jack Roslovic?", questioned Nick Alberga.

Co-host Zack Phillips then weighed in.
"But that's kind of the same vibe I just keep getting. I'm looking at the stats which don't tell the whole story, maybe it doesn't tell you exactly who he played with in these situations."

Jack Roslovic's Playoff Numbers Make Mitch Marner's Look Fantastic

As Phillips mentioned the stats for Roslovic aren't great, particularly in the post-season where he has just 3 goals and 17 points in 45 games. For Leafs Nation, who have torched the departed Mitch Marner's post-season production in the past, adding Roslovic doesn't exactly fix the issue.
Sure, he may be able to rekindle the chemistry he had with Max Domi or Auston Matthews during earlier playing days, but that itself is a long-shot if he finds himself on the Leafs' third line.
