Panthers Forward Matthew Tkachuk Calls Out Leafs Nation Following Game 7 Win

A day after eliminating the Maple Leafs for the second time in three seasons, Panthers forward Matthew Tkachuk called out Leafs Nation publicly.
Always in the middle of controversy, Matthew Tkachuk has never been one to shy away from the microphone and speak his mind, as he did ahead of Game 7 calling out the Leafs' inability to perform under pressure.
In hindsight, his comments before Game 7 weren't wrong as once again the Leafs failed to deliver any type of memorable performance, getting dominated from the moment the puck dropped until the final horn and a chorus of boos ended their season.
On Monday morning, Tkachuk made what seems like a regular appearance on 'Spittin' Chiclets' to break down the series against the Maple Leafs. To the surprise of many, Tkachuk was very complimentary of the Leafs and the roster. He did, however, call out the Toronto media and Leafs Nation for forcing the team to constantly perform under a ridiculous amount of pressure.
"If their team was not in Toronto dealing with all the crazy circus stuff outside of it, they'd be an unbelievable team. They just have so much to deal with I feel bad. We don't have to deal with that in Florida You almost use that against them. The pressure these guys have to deal with day in and day out."
As significant changes to the 'Core 4' are on their way, with Mitch Marner seemingly saying goodbye to Toronto following Sunday's loss, many believe it is because of the pressure he faces on a daily basis as the reason why he may want to seek a fresh start.
Leafs Nation can be unruly at times, but when you're forking over the kind of money they are to see a team constantly fail, there has to be a level of accountability and expectation - something this Leafs group has yet to live up to.
