Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube opens up about his expectations for the team as they prepare to face a more challenging opponent in round 2 of the playoffs.

Now, with momentum on their side, they're gearing up for a significantly tougher challenge in round 2 of the playoffs against the Florida Panthers.
Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube, a former Stanley Cup-winning coach, highlighted some of the key differences between the first and second rounds of the playoffs.
As reported by Terry Koshan on X, Berube emphasized the importance of emotional control:
"Emotion plays a big part of the game. We all know that. Discipline and composure, we got through one round, and it has to be more elevated now."
Berube also touched on what he expects from the upcoming series against the defending Stanley Cup champions.
As per Terry Koshan on X:
"I'm very comfortable. I don't feel worried about it at all. Our teams is they're ready for it. They understand it. That's playoffs. It's going to be hard and there's going to be hits, and you got to get up and play."
The coach praised Auston Matthews for his dominant performance in the first round, noting how the Leafs captain led by example at both ends of the ice and embraced the full weight of his responsibilities.
Meanwhile, Panthers pest Matthew Tkachuk has already hinted at the physical and emotional intensity of the upcoming matchup. However, he made it clear that this series is not too important - reminding everyone that the Panthers have been battle-tested in even more significant games last year, taking a clear shot at the Maple Leafs.
The two powerhouses will clash on Monday, May 6, with Game 1 set to take place at Scotiabank Arena. The Maple Leafs will look to capitalize on home-ice advantage as they aim to silence the doubters and continue their playoff run.
