Maple Leafs GM Brad Treliving spoke to the media on Tuesday morning and provided an update on Scott Laughton's injury and recovery timeline.
After a tremendous training camp, Leafs forward Scott Laughton
suffered a lower-body injury, putting his season debut on hold for the foreseeable future.
The Leafs have not confirmed the extent of Laughton's injury, but many suspect that the shot may have broken a bone in his foot. Initially, the Leafs announced the Oakville, Ontario native would be out week-to-week.

As the Leafs took to the ice on Tuesday for their final practice before they kick off the 2025-2026 season against the Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday, Treliving spoke to the media at Ford Performance Centre, where he was asked about Laughton's status.
The Leafs GM shared that Laughton will be 'out a few weeks' still, but the Leafs will have a better idea of where things stand in the next week or two.
While the 31-year-old may still be out until November, Treliving's update is rather positive, considering there was no definitive timeline when the injury initially happened.
For now though, the Leafs and Craig Berube will lean on Max Domi to fill the void on the third line and Nicolas Roy will take over Laughton's duties on the fourth line, as previously mentioned.
